Musette Bag
Musette Bag
Musette bags are very simple shoulder bags long-carried by cyclists. At the Tour de France, riders receive food and snacks in musette bags, grabbing them as they pass aid stations.
Patterned after classic French and Italian musette bags, these are meant to ride higher than a shoulder bag to keep the load centered in the small of a rider’s back. It fits a lot like a modern sling bag.
The musette can easily be folded and kept in a jersey pocket or even a top tube bag. From there it can be deployed to carry snacks, mail, and an extra layer. It works best with flat and light objects.
The body and straps are made with British Millerain dry waxed canvas, which is water-resistant and soft to the touch.
